DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING

California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.

The Position : Under the general supervision of the Senior Executive Director, the Director of Annual Giving will assist with the overall operation of an annual giving program and the Cal State LA Fund. The incumbent will supervise the Annual Giving Manager who oversees the phonathon program and will develop programs and activities to expand participation among constituencies and to increase financial support, including tracking financial data and making projections. The incumbent will apply a variety of complex policies and procedures and effectively handle a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and sensitive in nature. The incumbent will represent and promote the Cal State LA Fund as a liaison to donors and prospects, communicating program objectives through written materials, email, telephone contact and personal visits. In addition, the incumbent will collaborate with the fundraising team, including planned giving to help identify the appropriate assignment of prospects.

Required Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Three years of experience in telemarketing or tele-fundraising, including two years of supervisory experience, training or overseeing staff. Thorough knowledge of: English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; office systems and equipment; and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Possess familiarity and knowledge in creating an operating budget. Must be detail oriented. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to: plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple tasks; use independent judgment; and always maintain confidentiality. Incumbent must demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU system, is a State of California Employer. Desired Qualifications : Experience working within an Annual Fund department or in a fundraising operation. Experience with an alumni database or donor management, preferably Raiser’s Edge, and phonathon software systems, preferably Ruffalo Noel Levitz (RNL) Engage. Experience working in a higher education environment. Experience working with volunteers. Knowledge of independent database systems policy and support.

Compensation : Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $4,583 - $14,713/Monthly. (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range $7,500 - $8,333/Monthly). A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Appointment : The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
