The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is looking for Per Diem Occupational Therapist Assistants to assist Occupational Therapists in providing therapy for the rehabilitation of patients. This position will r eview patients' charts and therapy requests to assess patient therapy needs; specific projects for patients' participation in consultation with a therapist; explain therapy and activities to patients and provide encouragement. This position may also assist in the preparation of hand, arm, and neck splints.

These positions are in the Unclassified Service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. Positions participate in the County's PST Deferred Compensation Plan and do not earn any other benefits.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process : Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.

Shift Availability: Incumbents are expected to work 30-40 hours per week which includes weekday and weekend coverage in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Certifications: Incumbent must maintain certification throughout the duration of their employment.

Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be “fully vaccinated and boosted” for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.

Minimum Requirements

Certificate: Registered Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in acute care is highly desired.
