Duties and Responsibilities:

The main function of an On-Air Host at KCSN (88.5-FM) is to produce live and / or recorded radio shows. All On Air Hosts will also from time to time participate in the pledge drive fund raising activities of the membership department. Also, when asked, On Air Hosts will engage in "content creation" in the form of activities like artist interviews, specialty programing, etc... lastly, when possible, it will be required to make appearances in the community. i.e. Introducing a band on stage at an on-site show.

  • (60%) On Air Host: On KCSN-FM, 88.5-FM & stream, the host will curate and announce radio shows by selecting appropriate music / songs as directed by the program director. Hosts are the "voice" of the radio station during on-air shifts, also responsible for clearly communicating music info, community related news, concisely convey promotional announcements, etc....
  • (15%) During the year, the station aggressively conducts fund raising events or pledge drives. It is the responsibility of the

and using other tools like the website, and social media. Fundraising is an essential activity for the On Air Host to contribute.

to the financial viability of the radio station.
  • (10%) Content creation / appearances: Interviewing artists and bands is the most common form of content creation.

Other forms could include activities like: creating special programming for holidays, themed programming (National Women's month, etc...). Appearing in public will occasionally be required to do things like: introducing a band on stage, live remote broadcasts,

etc. Lastly, the On Air Host should use social media to promote the station and help uplift our brand.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2+ years working in a radio station or similar audio platform.
  • Ability to operate traditional broadcast equipment


Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities:
  • Has a working knowledge of Microsoft office products: word, excel, Power point, etc...
  • Has a working knowledge of social media: i.e. Instagram, FB, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Experience and understand in all genres of rock music


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule:

This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

Anticipated hiring range: $66,560 - $110,000 Annually

Full pay range: $66,560 - $110,000 Annually

Time Base: Full-Time
