Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) serves as a nonsupervisory Department specialist on outreach and community engagement for Community Awareness, Response, and Engagement (CARE). The Specialist is responsible for identifying, establishing, and cultivating cooperative relationships with community based programs, organizations, and community leaders, with a special focus on historically underrepresented stakeholders (including communities of color and faith-based communities) to strategically execute outreach initiatives. The Specialist will develop public education, resources, and awareness campaigns in conjunction with community organizations and leaders to support Attorney General initiatives and priorities, as well as participate in community events and meetings. The Specialist will also provide opportunities for diverse voices to shape the Department’s activities.

Telework/remote work options may be available. Regular travel within a specified geographic region in California required, with potential for occasional travel to outside regions.
