The Position

The Assistant Deputy Director Behavioral Health will have primary responsibility for the overall management, administration, supervision, and coordination of the programs within the Behavioral Health Division of the Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA). Program scope includes a wide range of county-operated programs, including the continuum of care under the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (DMC-ODS) and Specialty Mental Health Plan, and services provided by a network of contracted providers under a managed care plan. This position is responsible for the management of behavioral health programs which includes multiple units and programs of significant depth and complexity. Responsibilities include overall management and administration of services, including development of objectives and design and implementation of supporting programs, processes, policies, and/or procedures to successfully achieve those objectives. Position is responsible for the administration, and control of associated budgets for assigned programs. Supports the internal and external coordination of Behavioral Health services as part of an integrated HHSA and part of the broader county. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Deputy Director of HHSA - Behavioral Health and, as a high-level leadership role, is aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of HHSA.
