The Job

Agriculture/Weights and Measures is recruiting for Agricultural Field Aide II, who under general supervision, inspect, evaluate, service and correct placements as needed of a variety of pest detection traps and trap routes to ensure compliance with state standards and examine collected specimens. This position will perform quality control inspections, and may assist Agricultural/Standards Officers in special surveys and pest eradication activities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: I ncumbent must successfully complete a background check prior to appointment.

Physical: Incumbents must be able to lift and hold items weighing 5 pounds suspended on a 6-foot pole away from the body and visually ascertain color and small details/objects.

Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. Employees may be provided a County car to use in performance of duties. At time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Minimum Requirements

Experience: Two (2) years of experience equivalent to an Agricultural Field Aide I in San Bernardino County. Equivalent duties include securing trap sites, servicing traps, and examining trapped specimens.
