Job/Department Summary:

The Online Learning Specialist is a key member of the Professional & Continuing Education (PCE) Program Team and is responsible for the planning and implementation of the digital teaching and learning tools used to ensure the overall quality of all self-support online programs. The Online Learning Specialist provides instructional design and digital learning solutions expertise to ensure the effective integration of the digital learning ecosystem required for self-support programs in alignment with University resources and policies. Perform program planning involving the development of cost-effective programs in related as well as unrelated discipline areas or for very large and diversified types of programs. The Online Learning Specialist is an experienced solutions builder and a roll-up-your-sleeves senior multimedia specialist who thrives in a daily collaborative environment and aims for operational excellence and process improvements. The Online Learning Specialist is responsible for end-to-end stewardship of complex projects, which entails working with cross-functional stakeholders of DoIT (including TLP and Information Security), faculty and external subject matter experts, and PCE stakeholders that include internal/external customers, clients, and students.

Required Education and Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university, preferably with courses in education, technology, and instructional design.
AND
Equivalent to three years of experience in digital technology implementation, continuing higher education program development and operations, and multimedia design.

  • Bilingual
  • Skill dedication to continuous learning and skill upgrading through related college classes, certification courses, or other training in the areas of modern techniques, tools, technologies, and frameworks in the interdisciplinary areas of credit/non-credit programming and digital learning design.
  • Skill aptitude to maintain a high level of professional competence in best practices with digital learning and multimedia development.
  • Demonstrates consistent delivery on commitments, with great organizational skills, exceptional follow through and precision and attention to detail.
  • Skill in innovative and proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgement in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to quickly research and incorporate subject matter expertise to provide sustainable solutions, optional recommendations, and considerations to enhance PCE related stakeholder service deliveries.
  • Ability to devise, implement and oversee external and internal digital learning strategies to ensure that PCE delivers programming in a consistent, professional and prompt fashion with its stakeholders and the wider campus community.
  • Develop and implement digital learning strategies in varied formats and deployment approaches.

Time Base: Full-time

Pay Plan: 12/12

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer: Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $68,784 - $98,112 per year.
