PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $2,775.00 per month to $3,450.00 per month, part-time, at 30 hours per week (.75 time base). Full time salary equivalent $3,700.00 per month to $4,600.00 per month.

About the Position

This is a part-time, 30 hour/week (.75 time base), temporary position through June 30, 2025, with the possibility of reappointment.

In collaboration with the Principal Investigator for ASTEP (Aligning the Science Teacher Education Pathway) and the Principal Investigators at the six other campuses on this project (the Networked Improvement Community or NIC), the person in this position will oversee programmatic progress and provide leadership towards reaching the goals of dissemination of the no-cost extension year of this $3.6M NSF funded project. Additionally, this position leads the efforts in monitoring fiscal requirements of each of the sub-award campus, making sure they adhere to subrecipient agreements in place, collecting, evaluating, and analyzing research products related to the NIC and ensuring the goals of the ASTEP project proposed are achieved in timely fashion.

Responsibilities
  • Track budget provisions and restrictions, ensuring everything is compliant with all the regulations in place. Ensure sub-awards use funds for intended purposes and stay on-track to expend all funds by project end date.
  • Manage deadlines for progress and financial reports/invoicing of grant deliverables.
  • Analyze and identify compliance issues - oversee these issues as soon as they arise ensuring needs are addressed in a timely fashion, (i.e. Making certain the all sub-awards fulfill contract obligations by scheduled due dates).
  • Maintain contacts and requirements for fiscal administration of ASTEP in collaboration with the ASTEP PI and budget analyst.
  • Monitor, evaluate and analyze the project progress of all independent contractors. Ensure independent contractors fulfill obligations, complete deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Procure data on a regular basis, supporting the goals of the grant in order to prepare the NSF final report and evaluate the robustness of the data- constantly controlling for quality.
  • Development and leadership oversight of tracking mechanisms for sub-award terms and conditions. (i.e. Develop shared tracking sheet to monitor sub-award progress toward completing deliverables).
  • Monitor timely submission and monitoring of invoice payments.
  • Facilitate data collection and reporting to the PI for NSF reports.
  • Track PI and other required research certifications (CITI training) and their timely renewals.
  • Collaborate with and educate NIC members and subcontractors on dissemination modes for ASTEP in all modalities that are well beyond publications such as taking leadership to promote products outside the academic sphere in an innovative manner to reach a wider educational audience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
  • Requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Three to five years (3 - 5) of program management experience.

Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position.
