Job Description

Pay Range: $27.52 - $34.40/hr.

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; Some evening/weekend work required. Ability to work overtime/call back hours during weekdays, weekends and holidays

A Sr. Construction Inspector job is available with the City of Fort Worth the Water Department Capital Delivery Construction Inspection Section. The selected candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, reviewing, overseeing construction projects involving water and sanitary sewer mains, storm drainage, concrete and asphalt paving for conformance with plans, specification and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS diploma/GED supplemented by college level course work in Engineering, Architecture Construction or a related field
  • Three (3) years of construction inspection experience involving the construction and maintenance of public works systems and infrastructures
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • At least two years’ experience with construction of water/sewer, storm drainage, concrete/asphalt
  • At least two (2) years’ supervisory experience

The Sr. Construction Inspector job responsibilities include:
  • Schedules and attends pre-construction meetings and final inspections
  • Conducts site Inspections
  • Acts as liaison between contractors and the general public with respect to various construction projects
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with consultants, contractors, utilities, the general public and internal employees
