The Position

Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.

Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. This recruitment is for an Administrative Services Officer IV position, located in the Fiscal Services Section of the Department of Business and Industry, under the Director's Office in Carson City, Nevada. This position performs all tasks consistent with the classification series regarding managing the accounting, budgeting, review and analysis for multiple and diverse agencies and programs within the Department.

The position is responsible for providing administrative advice and support on the most critical programs and activities to the Department Director, Deputy Directors, and Division Administrators. Additionally, this position is tasked with the most critical functions of the Director's Office including implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting results of financial operations as well as grants management, contract administration, forecasting, performance measurement, internal audits, operations reviews, and supervision of the Administrative Services Officers and Management Analysts and the activities of their individual sections. The incumbent may provide testimony to the Legislative Commission, Board of Examiners, or Interim Finance Committee, and will be responsible for financial administration, accounting and reporting associated with federal grant reconciliations, calculating indirect cost rates, other source revenue distributions, fiscal year vs. federal year accounting, as well as state and federal statutory compliance. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or a related field and seven years of professional experience in formulating, developing and analyzing agency budgets; fiscal management; and management of multiple business operations, two years of which were equivalent to an Administrative Services Officer III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
