OVERVIEWDCD is seeking an Extra-Help Office Support Assistant to assist with d ocument retention tasks.
The role requires reviewing historical records to identify personally identifiable information (PII) for redaction, organizing archived files, and scanning documents in preparation for external publication . Additional responsibilities may include general clerical duties such as customer service, reception, data entry, filing, taking and delivering messages, preparing mailings, scanning, and photocopying. The position requires 30-40 hours of work per week .

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of general office and/or customer services experience.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - Experience using Adobe Acrobat, MS Excel, and SharePoint preferred.
- Experience in document scanning and filing preferred.
Criminal Conviction Standards: - The successful incumbent will or may have access to a secured/confidential facility or computer system(s). As a result, Kitsap County will be conducting an extensive criminal background check by law enforcement agencies, which may include fingerprinting.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE OF DUTIESIn this role, you will have the opportunity to: Redaction / Exemption Review of Public Records:
- Review sensitive or confidential materials, including email communications, attorney/client privileged information, personnel matters, and code compliance issues.
- Redact records to ensure compliance with the Public Records Act.
Administrative Support:
- Enter records and prepare various administrative documents, including forms, memos, reports, letters, and written or electronic correspondence.
- Obtain and compile information for reports or administrative use, working with guidance on the nature and purpose of the requested information.
- Perform a variety of record , file , and data searches using both electronic and physical databases.
- Store and organize records in compliance with established procedures and retention schedules, under the direction of the Records Manager.
