POSITION Depending on the area of assignment, incumbents may not be required to perform all duties listed
OR may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
- Monitor and supervise day camp participants;
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of leisure activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games,
- Assist in arranging recreational and educational classes, speakers, and field trips;
- Monitor and assist in the supervision of participant safety and behavior;
- Complete, organize, and maintain records of attendance, payments, and other related paperwork.
- Set up, prepare, and clean designated areas for activities and events;
- Communicate with parents and program participants;
- Distribute flyers, promote and provide information to patrons regarding camp activities;
- Check and track supplies and materials;
- Serve meals to youth on an as-needed basis;
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a camp or school setting. Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Work may require frequent standing, walking, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
MUST BE ABLE TO: - Participate in the training program
- Secure a CPR Certification
- Work between May 30 th and August 22 nd up to 35 hours per week;
- Express maturity in thought and demonstrate good work ethic/habits,
- Follow supervision and suggestions of management for improvement of service,
- Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with parents, campers, co-workers, and community members.
- Demonstrate good citizenship, honesty, and ethical behavior;
- Be willing to cooperate with other employees and the public.
THE SELECTION PROCESS begins with an application review for legibility and minimum qualifications.
