    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field, plus three (3) years of HR experience.
    • One (1) additional year of experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

    • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field, plus four (4) years of HR experience.

    POSITION OVERVIEW :
    The mission of the Watershed Protection Department is to protect lives, property and the environment of our community by reducing the impact of flood, erosion and water pollution.

    We are looking for an experienced recruiter to join our HR Team. You will collaborate with our supervisors to add to our dedicated and passionate workforce. This position will be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment activities from developing the recruitment strategy, in consultation with the supervisor, to on-boarding the new hire. The ideal candidate would have strong networking skills, know how to leverage different recruiting strategies to source a diverse pool of qualified applicants, and who has the communication and relationship building skills to create a recruiting pipeline by representing the department in recruiting events such as job/career fairs, college recruiting events, professional conferences, and diverse organizations to communicate job opportunities in our department.

    The candidate selected to interview is subject to pre-employment screening assessments to evaluate skill levels and competencies required for this position.

    TRAVEL :
    If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

    Pay Range
    HR Advisor- $30.70- $38.37
    HR Advisor Sr- $32.23 - $40.29
    Hours
    Monday - Friday, with the ability for a 60% telework schedule per week after initial training period. Exceptions may apply subject to the business needs of the department.

    May require working outside of normal business hours, including emergency events, evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by business needs.

    • Extensive experience in full-cycle high volume recruitment. Experience leading a team with a variety of recruitment strategies, leading job fairs and recruiting efforts. Experience developing interview questions, conducting interview panels, and creating interview assessments.
    • Experience working independently and leading HR teams on multiple projects simultaneously and functions effectively in a team environment.
    • Experience with developing and updating policies and procedures and implementing process improvements, writing memorandums and reports.
    • Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing. Extensive experience interacting with managers, supervisors, employees and job applicants.
    • Ability to travel to more than one work location.

    City Government
