POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Programs and Leadership (ADPL), the Board of Directors (BOD) Leadership & Administrative Coordinator is responsible for: (1) developing and implementing the University Student Union BOD Leadership and Training program; (2) coordinating BOD elections; (3) assisting in developing, administering and monitoring the BOD’s annual operating budget; and (4) providing administrative support of ranging complexity to the BOD. The position supervises a part-time student assistant employee and volunteers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Develop, implement and evaluate the BOD Leadership and Training program;
- Research leadership development theories and best practices to inform recommendations for retreats and trainings;
- Provide administrative oversight and support to the USU Board of Directors by assisting with meeting preparation, record-keeping, communication, and other logistical and operational tasks as assigned;
- Develop and implement BOD committee member certification program;
- Assist in developing and implementing the BOD Leadership program by facilitating recruitment and on-boarding of new BOD and Committee members, providing mentorship and recommending leadership development opportunities;
- Create and facilitate presentations on a variety of topics to USU BOD representatives as requested;
- Coordinate logistics for annual BOD Elections;
- Participate in USU BOD meetings, trainings and retreats;
- Coordinate annual BOD recognitions for BOD and committee members;
- Assist with developing, planning and facilitating BOD trainings;
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department for communications, promotions, and social media content;
- Train, and supervise the work of one (1) part-time student assistant employee, including monitoring performance; generating performance evaluations; and administering disciplinary actions as needed;
- Provide administrative support to the BOD including handling a wide variety of projects with competing priorities;
- Organize and maintain online and physical files, including file retention and intranet management and maintain legal documents;
- Prepare and distribute items for the BOD including but not limited to meeting agendas, minutes and information packets;
- Reserve meeting rooms for BOD meetings;
- Generate monthly BOD Executive Director report;
- Develop and coordinate the BOD annual calendar of programs and events;
- Compile information and generate annual and semi-annual reports;
- Conduct ongoing review and make update to BOD codes, by- laws, policies, and procedures as needed;
- Maintain BOD records and archives;
- Assist with providing administrative oversight to the BOD’s annual operating budget including development of monthly and quarterly reports;
- Screen, direct and respond to USU BOD travel inquiries;
- Manage monthly scholarships for BOD and committee members and submit reports to the Financial Aid and Scholarships office;
- Develop and execute contracts and submit invoice requests;
- Responsible for complying with and completing hospitality forms for the BOD and its committees;
- Serve as back-up Executive Secretary for BOD Committees;
- Participate in USU staff meetings, activities, training and development programs, and professional development activities;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
Experience
Equivalent to two years of professional-level experience in a job-related field preferably in higher education, student unions, student activities, and student development.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment or at an approved and appropriate workspace in the incumbent’s home. Must be able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines. Contact with students, faculty, staff, administrators and the general public is required.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: This position supervises a part-time student assistant employee and volunteers.

The anticipated hiring range will be as follows and is dependent on experience and qualifications:
Hourly: $27.93 - $29.81
Bi-Weekly: $2,234.31 - $2,384.62
Annually: $58,092.00 - $62,000.00
The salary range of the position is as follows:
Hourly: Minimum: $27.93 Maximum: $39.72
Bi-Weekly: Minimum: $2,234.31 Maximum: $3,177.23
Annually: Minimum: $58,092.00 Maximum: $82,608.00
