Description: The
Child and Family Services Manager is responsible for managing Health, Mental Health, Nutrition, and Family Services programing. The position is responsible for strategic planning, process improvement, and compliance related to programs. Oversees and develops partnerships and collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders including the Jeffco Prosperity Partners.
SCHEDULE:The position is primarily in-office, on site located at the Arvada location. There may be the need for occasional work to be performed during the evening.
COMPENSATION: Hiring Range: $93,000.00 - $99,000.00 USD Annual
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:- Oversees Health, Mental Health, Nutrition and Family Services component areas of the program to include compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, Colorado Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements, and internal policies and procedures. Monitors programing performance and outcomes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations supporting family engagement and health, mental health, and nutrition programing.
- Serves on the Jeffco Head Start leadership team to support strategic planning and ensure implementation of the strategic plan, integration of program services, assist in program decision making, and support the implementation of trauma informed and culturally responsive programming. Ensures that the health, mental health, nutrition and family services components are progressing towards meeting program goals as outlined in the Head Start Grant. Update goals as needed. Makes decisions surrounding program planning. Act as Manager on Duty (MOD).
- Establishes and sustains relationships with community partners and participates in relevant boards, committees, and advisory groups to advance the mission of JCHS and expand access to needed services for children and families.
- Provides strategic oversight and leadership for the program’s health, nutrition, and mental health services. Develops and monitors systems, policies, and partnerships that ensure practices are responsive to identified child needs. Oversees family and community engagement across programming to support parental involvement. Guides implementation through collaboration, planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Creates, maintains, and tracks information for program budgets and approves expenditures. Supervises staff in area of responsibility. Administers and makes recommendations for routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, granting leave, appraisals, and taking corrective action. Conducts performance evaluations and communicates short- and long-term goals and objectives. Submits personnel records and reports as required by the County. Assists and advises subordinates as necessary, resolves problems as non-routine situations arise, and ensures adherence to established policies, procedures and standards. Communicates changes in policy and procedures to direct reports and implements them as directed.
- Provide oversight to JCHS’s participation in external revenue-generating programs, including the Universal Preschool Program (UPK) and the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). Act as liaison with community agencies and Local Education Agency.
- Oversee eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance (ERSEA) processes to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards.
- Support the placement and supervision of interns in various roles throughout the program, including but not limited to, graduate Social Work interns, high school summer internships, and Classroom Support and Parent/Caregiver Internships when placements and funding are available.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- 5 years of work-related experience.
- 5 years of supervision experience.
- Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Public Health, Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related discipline).
