    Job Announcement

    The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Library Technology Assistant (part-time, temporary, non-benefited). This position serves at the discretion of the department director. This position offers up to 19 hours per week, with a schedule that includes weekdays and occasional evening shifts.

    Downtown Chandler Library Hours

    Monday-Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

    Thursday-Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

    Sunday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

    Chandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and lifelong learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of knowledge and new ideas. As a system of four libraries in all geographic areas of the community, and a collection of nearly 500,000 books, DVDs, and a wide variety of digital resources, we bring people, information, and ideas together to read, learn, connect, and succeed. Our libraries continuously reflect on the current and emerging needs of patrons and choose to advance literacy and champion an inclusive learning experience for all people by fostering accessibility and embracing new technology.

    Who we are looking for

    Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with recent customer service experience and a familiarity with the internet, including computer programs, databases, and email.

    Minimum qualifications

    • Some High School, and

    • Customer Service experience involving frequent public contact, including basic computer skills; or

    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

    Desired qualifications

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, and operating standard office equipment such as copiers, printers, and fax machines.
