We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status.Position Summary:Provides staff assistance and coordination of hospital-wide employer-employee relations activities; interprets and applies policies and collective bargaining agreement language in employee and labor relations matters; participates in labor negotiations activities; assists in the resolution of grievances and disciplinary matters; provides advice, interpretation, and orientation to operating department personnel; represents Human Resource Department in dealing with other departments, government agencies, and labor organizations.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field and three (3) years *professional level work experience in employee/labor relations conducting complex workplace investigations, fact finding, developing and issuing written discipline, administering collective bargaining agreements, and participating in formal hearings.
*Professional level experience is defined as being employed in a FLSA exempt/salaried status position.

Additional and/or Preferred Position RequirementsCandidates documenting the following additional preferred experience and certifications will receive priority consideration for interview:
- Current employee and labor relations experience within a unionized acute care hospital (or related healthcare) workplace. Labor relations experience in other industries may also be considered, as well as operational leadership experience within a unionized workforce or current union leadership experience (e.g., Chief Steward, Union Business Agent, etc.).
- Experience participating in contract negotiations.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships and influence others.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Demonstrate advanced written and oral communication skills, including the skill in writing thorough, logical, well-written analytical reports on complex issues.
- Experience creating and implementing employee relations strategies to build engagement and reduce turnover.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical RequirementsKnowledge of:Principles, practices, and standards of human resource administration in employee and/or labor relations; relevant federal, state and county laws and regulations; basic data sampling and statistical analysis techniques; computer applications related to duties; project management and analytical techniques; principles and techniques of preparation of effective written informational and educational materials; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain standing for long periods of time, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Attends meetings, events, and conducts investigations outside of normal office hours.
