    Requirements

    Education and Experience : Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or a related field, and two (2) years of experience assisting in managing and directing a complex organization.

    Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state by the time of appointment.

    General Purpose

    Under the direction of the Senior Chief of Staff manage and oversee the operations of the Mayor's Office .

    Typical Duties

    Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information. Involves: Facilitate efficient communication and decision-making between the Mayor’s Office, top management, and other stakeholders. Provide oversight and guidance on projects of high importance.

    Responsible for assisting with the management of support staff. Involves: Establishing schedules and methods for procedural improvements to enhance accountability. Streamline operations, and enhance public service. Work with community groups or other agencies to establish and maintain effective working relationships and achieve goals and objectives. Assist with research through focus groups, surveys, and other means to assess community needs and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.

    Assist the Senior Chief of Staff in resolving problems and conflicts for the City Mayor. Involves: Ensuring the accuracy of the preparation of information, agendas, reports, and memoranda. Preparing budget requests and conducting expenditure and revenue analysis. Serve and assist the Mayor's Senior Chief of Staff on special projects, committees, and task forces.
