Position Description: The Accounting Technician III is responsible for Analyzing financial data in regard to meeting the financial obligation of the agency by processing outstanding invoices for payment in a timely manner; confirming receipt of goods and services; recording funding information and invoice approvals. Position duties will also include responding to vendor inquiries and complaints in an appropriate and timely manner; and recording expenditures within both Department of Health and State Wide Accounting Systems
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions: - Open Mail (VR & Misc), receive VR mail
- Shredding
- Look up receipts for program areas
- End of day balancing
- Picking up mail from mail room
- Bundling
- Receive All Mail (misc & VR)
- Cash window (counting petty cash & bagging cash)
- OSDH email
- Misc county checks & private insurance
- Record keeping & filing
- Morning dep transmittal
- NAR Lockbox tracking & Monthly receiving
- Billable tracker
- Deposits in People soft (morning dep, draws, wic draws & rebates)
- County payroll & trauma
- Processing Refund checks
- Misc wire & Medical billing wires
- Chargebacks
- Monthly credit card
- Checking the unclaimed list for payments belong to OSDH
- Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties - Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience required at this level consists of one year of clerical, bookkeeping, or technical accounting experience plus three years of experience in performing technical accounting work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting completion of six semester hours in accounting or bookkeeping at an accredited college or university for each six months of the required experience; or the completion of a vocational training course in accounting for the one year only of the required clerical, bookkeeping or technical accounting experience.

Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Consist of those identified in Level II plus demonstrated ability to work independently and perform a wide range of technical accounting functions.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Being present in the office is an essential function of this position.
