    Workdays & Hours: FLSA Exempt position. Schedule may vary based on operational needs. Some positions may be assigned to a 4/10 or 5/8 workweek. All roles participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation with 1-hour response times.

    A Sr. IT Technical Support Analyst position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions' new Public Safety Field Support division. The Public Safety Field Support team provides end-user technical support to the City of Fort Worth's first responders, including Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services personnel. The team ensures the reliable operation of field-deployed technology used by public safety professionals, delivering responsive service to support mission-critical operations in dynamic environments.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
    • Four (4) years of responsible experience in formation system technical support work such as operating systems, networking, server backup and recovery, or related fields.
    • Minimum of one (1) certification specific to the technical support division.
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check (see below for details).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • One (1) or more of the following certifications: Comp TIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator (MD-102), JAMF or MDM-related certification (e.g., Intune Administrator).
    • Three (3) or more years of experience providing technical support for public safety users, including police, fire, or EMS personnel.
    • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting mobile technology platforms such as mobile data computers (MDCs), vehicle modems/gateways, and emergency communications hardware.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead technical troubleshooting efforts and coordinate directly with vendors for issue resolution.

    The Sr IT Technical Support Analyst's job responsibilities include:
    • Serve as the lead technical resource for complex support issues affecting Police, Fire, and EMS field personnel
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting for mobile data computers (MDCs), vehicle gateways, VPN connectivity, and mission-critical applications
    • Coordinate directly with external vendors for escalated support, service requests, and hardware replacements
    • Lead field deployments and technology refresh projects, including planning, installation, and testing
    • Monitor system performance and proactively identify issues affecting public safety operations
    • Mentor and support junior analysts, assisting with technical guidance and escalation handling
    • Document advanced troubleshooting steps, recurring issues, and solutions in the ITSM platform
    • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation, ensuring timely response to critical incidents impacting first responder technology

    Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

    Physical Demand

    Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

    Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.

    Medical Program

    Vacation

    Wellness Program

Participants may earn points throughout the year (Jan. 1-Dec. 15) for completing specific program activities and participants can redeem points at the end of the year for a cash reward.
