Performs highly skilled technical work with responsibility for the maintenance, repair, installation, and removal of radio communications equipment. Troubleshoots and tests emergency communications CAD systems. Exercises technical independence in determining work methods and procedures. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Radio Systems Administrator. Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, progress reports, and the general operating condition of the radio, computer, and paging systems. The employee be required to adjust to flexible work hours to accommodate operational issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree with two (2) or more years experience in the Radio Communications field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) member, 911 Certification, and valid Florida CDL desired. BDA/DAS experience is preferred. Polygraph required with the exception of current OPD employees.

- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
