    There are currently four (4) vacancies in the Environmental Services Division and Food and Nutrition Services Division.

    The Environmental Services Division is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in working as Institutional Services Aides at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center. Individuals in these positions perform a variety of janitorial services in the County hospital, helping to ensure a safe environment for all patients.

    This classification can also be used in the Health Services Food and Nutrition Services Division. The Institutional Services Aide plays an important role in the Health Services Food and Nutrition Services division by preparing and distributing food. This job supports the Food and Nutrition division by performing various tasks in food preparation and distribution.

    What you will typically be responsible for:
    If assigned to Environmental Services :
    • Sweeping, wet mopping, and vacuuming floors
    • Buffing floors using electrical buffing equipment
    • Washing and cleaning toilets, bathtubs, and other bathroom fixtures
    • Replenishing paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, and light bulbs
    • Dusting, cleaning, and disinfecting all furniture and equipment
    • Spot cleaning and disinfecting walls and woodwork

    If assigned to Food and Nutrition Services :
    • Dishes up individual servings in kitchen or cafeteria lines
    • Weighs and measures food portions
    • Sets up patient food on the serving line
    • Prepares diet nourishment and tube-feeding mixtures
    • Loads, unloads and cleans food carts
    • Washes dishes, pots, and kitchen utensils by hand or by using equipment
    • Sets up and maintains employee dining room
    • Sweeps and mops kitchen floors and spot clean walls

    Selection Process

    Application Filing and Evaluation: Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.Training and Experience Questionnaire: Candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire at the time of filing. The responses to the training and experience questions on the supplemental questionnaire will be used to evaluate candidates' r elevant education, training and/or experience as it relates to the Institutional Services Aide classification. (Weighted 100%)

    CONVICTION HISTORY

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

    All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
