    Requirements

    MOS Code: 15A1M (Air Force), 35F (Army), 8852 (Marine Corps), 001072 (Navy)

    Education and Experience : Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of systems, technical and/or business analysis experience.

    Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent license issued by another state.

    Special Requirements : Applicants for positions assigned to the Department of Information Technology Services must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check within the first six months from hire and maintain CJIS eligibility. CJIS requirements are related to system access and the following list of convictions and/or deferred adjudications will result in failure of the CJIS background check and disqualification and termination from employment: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor convictions, an open arrest warrant for any criminal offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and family violence convictions.

    General Purpose

    Under direction, serve as a liaison between assigned department(s) or division (s) and Information Services to coordinate technical solutions to meet business needs, optimize existing technology, and assist with technology upgrades and implementations.

    Typical Duties

    Analyze business processes and coordinate technical solutions with Information Services. Involves: Review operations to define functional requirements, map business processes, and identify areas for improvement and automation. Analyze existing systems and recommend solutions to maximize existing technology. Prepare functional specifications, and determine cost impact and long-term viability of proposed technical solutions. Review, research, recommend, and assist with business process redesign to include affected policies and procedures. Recommend software upgrades, and direct implementation activities to include testing efforts to ensure project goals and objectives are achieved. Arrange for necessary training.

    Perform administrative, professional, and incidental duties as assigned. Involves: Conduct special studies. Attend meetings and conferences, and represent the department as necessary. Prepare and present special and recurring reports and recommendations. Assist in the preparation of project budgets. Compile data, generate reports, and maintain databases, records, and files. Perform special projects as assigned.
