Examples of Duties - Administers departmental projects and performs special assignments related to the department's business
- Assists in scheduling and coordinating meetings
- Handles, processes, and maintains confidential or legal documents and data
- Gathers and compiles data and prepares simple statistical and narrative reports
- Prepares, processes, and maintains records of departmental purchase requisitions
- Prepares petty cash reimbursement
- Generates correspondence, reports, and presentations
- Orders and distributes materials, office supplies, equipment, and furniture
- Assists in preparation of graphs, programs, and posters
- Provides information and referral to Metro personnel and to the public
- Develops and maintains filing systems, records, and logs including computerized database files
- Prepares and submits requisitions and check requests

Minimum QualificationsA combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Additional experience, as outlined below, may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. A typical combination includes:
Education- Associate's Degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field
Experience- One year of relevant experience performing administrative or secretarial work
Certifications/Licenses/Special Requirements- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
