    Location : Oklahoma City - 123 Robert S Kerr

    Salary : up to 85,000.00, based on education and experience

    Full Time /Part Time : Full time

    Work Schedule : Monday - Friday

    Primary Hours : 8-5

    Position Description:

    This position reports to the Director of Allied Health, within Family Health Services and provides technical guidance and support to the SoonerStart Early Intervention program, the federally and state funded early intervention program for infants and toddlers with disabilities ages 0-3 and their families, child guidance service and other areas of the agency employing allied health professionals. Allied Health Specialists can include but are not limited to Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Audiologists, Behavioral Health Specialists, and Child Development Specialists.

    Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
    • Maintains communication between all programs within the OSDH that employee allied health professionals
    • Maintains communication with county health departments regarding the ongoing services provided by allied health professionals and ongoing community needs
    • Actively directs and coordinates, collaborates, and consults with the Allied Health Technical Department team members to provide direction and guidance for statewide Allied Health service delivery among related programs
    • Proactively identifies process and technical improvements for the allied health professionals
    • Coordinates the statewide financial management needs of the program; and functions as the liaison between OSDH and the lead agency OSDE regarding the annual budget and interagency contract.
    • Supervises members of the Allied Health Technical team which may include, but are not limited to, the Professional Credentialing Consultant, Agency Professional Training Consultant, and the Clinician Practice Consultant
    • Reviews staffing patterns, program activities and other information to evaluate the Allied Health Technical program effectiveness as well as effectiveness of other programs with allied health professionals
    • Provides consultation and makes recommendations to program managers regarding the delivery of services at the local, regional, and statewide levels that are within the scope of practice of the allied health professional’s licensure and certification
    • Be the first source for resolving technical issues and be familiar with the different boards and certification bodies for the allied health professionals
    • Provides consultation and collaboration and function as a technical liaison with the program areas in relation to the Allied Health Professionals
    • Participates in quality improvement activities.
    • Participates in staff activities including recruitment, hiring, recognition, and adverse actions when required.
    • Responds to public and legislative inquiries about the use of Allied Health Specialist
    • Works closely with HR to determine the eligibility of employees with licensure and certification and scope of practice
    • Assist Directors in the county and program areas in relation to work standards and measures in the use of Allied Health Professionals
    • Establishes trust and maintains relationships with cross-functional teams and internal and external customers
    • Works closely with the Finance Division in relation to billing of Allied Health Professional services
    • Being present at the job is an essential function of the job.

    • Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Master’s degree and six (6) years of professional supervisory, managerial, consultative, or public health administration experience; and certification or licensure of one of the above listed Allied Health Professionals.If education, certification, or licensure is required to meet qualifications, applicants must provide documentation at the time of interview.

    Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to Allied Health Professionals
    • Knowledge of the principles, methods and practices of various programs being administered in the county health departments and community partners.
    • Knowledge of the organization, development, and administration of the programs for which responsibility is assigned.
    • Knowledge of grant development and supervisory principles and practices.
    • Ability required to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the activities of multiple work units and divisions engaged in a broad range of functions.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to interpret, analyze and resolve highly complex administrative and personnel problems.
    • Ability to communicate management goals effectively to staff and the public.


    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
