Receive, monitor and catalogue Model Traffic Code (MTC) summons and parking tickets. Receive and process payments for summons and parking tickets. Provide customer service and support to the general public. As part of the Records Unit, this position also performs a variety of clerical and data entry tasks in the collection, maintenance and preservation of criminal justice records for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO). Performs data entry in the records management system, ensures data is accurate and entered in a timely manner, scans required documents from patrol and criminal investigations. Processes mandated NIBRS reports. Disseminate information about summons and parking tickets. Collect all fees and surcharges for the JCSO Model Traffic work unit. Reports to the JCSO Records Section Manager.

- Enter data from summons and parking tickets. Scan documents into records management system. Decipher handwriting to ensure accuracy of data. Ensure correct charges are being entered for the correct defendant.
- Collect and process payments. Enter data into the database. Compile daily deposit.
- Perform data entry and scanning of documents into the records management system. Ensure data is accurate and entered in a timely manner. Process NIBRS reports in accordance with CBI/FBI requirements.
- Date and time stamp paid summons. File in proper manner. Process correspondence concerning payments and summons. Return late or short payments. Return juvenile advisements which have not been notarized. Docket unpaid tickets. Utilize various databases to research and retrieve information. Compile tabulated and statistical data queries and reports.
- Answer telephone. Greet and assist public with summons and parking tickets.
- Initiate collection process for returned checks - insufficient funds.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred - Related Specialized Training.
Preferred - Experience in law enforcement environment.
Notary Public within 3 months of date of hire.
Certification in Colorado Crime Information Center(CIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) within one year of date of hire.
