The Job

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Licensed Vocational Nurses II who perform the full range of nursing duties in the care and treatment of patients. Duties include providing basic nursing care, assisting with treatments and procedures, performing data collection and administering medications. Positions are assigned to Inpatient Care units, Inpatient and Outpatient Behavioral Health units, Outpatient Family Health Centers and Outpatient Specialty Clinics and may be full-time, part-time or extra-help. Extra-help positions are in unclassified service and serve at the discretion of the appointing authority. The positions participate in the County's Part-time Seasonal Temporary (PST) deferred compensation plan and do not earn any other benefits. Candidates selected for Extra help positions are not precluded from being considered for full-time positions and may remain on the eligible list for full-time employment.

Modified Benefit Option (MBO): This benefit option provides full-time employees in

eligible classifications the opportunity to earn a higher hourly rate of pay (above base pay).

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Availability: Candidates must be available to work all shifts which include day, night, swing, weekends and holidays.

Background Investigation: Applicants selected for these positions must successfully pass a background investigation which includes fingerprinting and verification of employment history and education.

Certifications: Some positions perform blood withdrawal and require Intravenous Therapy (IVT) and Blood Withdrawal certifications. Positions in Behavioral Health require an applicant to obtain a Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification within 30 days of hire or be terminated. MAB certification must be maintained while employed.

Physical ability: Performance of the essential job functions requires physical agility, good vision and color discrimination; fine hand manipulation and finger dexterity in both hands; working and/or reaching above and below shoulder level; discerning speech in quiet/noisy locations; lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Working conditions involve exposure to combative or assaultive patients, electricity, chemicals, infectious materials, heat and odors.

Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be “fully vaccinated and boosted” for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Minimum Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following:

License: Must possess a current Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California.

Certification: Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience: One (1) year of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

Desired Qualifications

Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Testing of bilingual skills may be required to receive additional compensation.
