Salary range: $37,777 - $47,196

The Security Specialist, Sr., under the supervision of the Security Manager is responsible for the consistent and documented daily security roving patrols, facilities physical security inspections, ID badge enforcement and security briefs. The Watershed Security Specialist Sr. provides a safe and secure work environment to ensure accountability and a deterrent of intruders or theft.

The Security Specialist, Sr. may also be required to issue identification badges for all employees of an assigned department in accordance with policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: deactivating and recovering ID badges of terminated employees or contractors; accounting for ID badges and storage at all times; assisting in the semi- annual audit of ID badges; performing routine to complex clerical and administrative duties in the ID badge office; and processing requests for tours or visits of secure areas.

Supervision Received

Performs work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level professional. May work independently or with other workers with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Experience

Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field or have three (3) years’ experience in security operations center or law enforcement; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Preferred Licensure & Certifications
  • None required.
  • Must be able to acquire Homeland Security Certification I, II and III.
  • NIMS Training 100B, 200B, 700A, and 800B within the first year of employment.
