During The Great Resignation of 2021, over 20 million Americans quit their jobs in search of better employment opportunities. So, when MintLife shared this study on the psychology behind the most fulfilling job, it was obvious there was some investigating to be done. In the final quarter of 2021, there were more than 10 million job openings. However, 92% of people say the pandemic made them realize they wanted a career they are passionate about.

With the average person working around 260 days out of the year, it’s understandable that workers want to enjoy the profession they are committing a lot of their lives to. Many characteristics that job seekers seek in a new position in 2022 include the opportunity for career growth, a healthy work-life balance, and the opportunity to feel a sense of belonging in their workplace environment, as 51% of people surveyed quit their job last year because of that fact. With this information, Mint was able to put together a list of the top fulfilling jobs to explore in 2022.

Physical therapy is a great career to enter into as you get to see patients make significant progress in improvement. The position also allows you to form meaningful relationships with clients and enjoy the pleasure and responsibility to help those who are injured or disabled reach recovery goals. With a median salary of $71,500, physical therapy is also a lucrative career as well. However, it does require you to complete both a Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program (two years) and pass the National Physical Therapy Examination.

Other jobs included in the study include the position of surgeon and CEO. Both of which, while extremely lucrative, do require an extensive amount of education. However, not all fulfilling jobs require higher education, like the position of a police officer or CEO.
