According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for social workers is expected to grow by 16 percent by 2026, much faster than the seven percent overall increase expected across the job market in the same period. Social workers are in demand and likely to remain so, especially in sectors like healthcare.
We teach our kids, “Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet.” We need to take our own advice to heart when it comes to what should be used in a resume. Executives can work diligently and do extensive amounts of research to know what to put on a resume, only to struggle with landing a job.
When I was first starting out in my professional career, I was lucky enough to stumble across a resume template which helped me land my first few jobs and promotions. The thing is, not all resume templates are created equally. Some may not be appropriate for the position you’re seeking (or frankly, for any position).
Very few of us have ever had the privilege of handing in our resume confidently along with a new job application. There is always that fear in the back of our minds: was it safe to include my 5th-grade karate certificate as an achievement?
Once you have been offered the job, accepted it and have started your career with it, you should from time to time return to your Resume and ask yourself: Is something missing from my Resume?
